Those still trying to plan something fun to do over the Family Day long weekend can take advantage of free fishing across the province.
From February 14th to 16th, Ontarians can enjoy fishing province-wide without having to purchase a licence or carry an Outdoors Card.
During this free fishing period, however, it is essential to carry valid identification issued by the provincial or federal government and should include both your name and date of birth.
Families fishing during winter conditions are also advised to practice proper ice safety habits.
For more details or to find places to fish this weekend, visit OntarioFamilyFishing.com.
Free fishing in Ontario will also be available May 9th and 10th for Mother’s Day, June 20th and 21st for Father’s Day and from June 27th through July 5th during Family Fishing Week.
