Southwestern Public Health is seeking the public’s help in a dog-biting incident Sunday in Malahide.
It took place around 2 p.m. on Mervis Drive, near the intersection of Nova Scotia Line and Imperial Road.
The dog is described as a large, brown, long-haired dog, possibly a mixed breed.
It was last seen running toward the forested area along Nova Scotia Line.
No owner was present. And the health unit cautions that the dog may be aggressive.
The health unit wants to confirm the vaccination status of the dog to allow the victim and their health care provider to determine next steps related to rabies post-exposure prophylaxis.
If you are the owner of the dog or have information about the incident, contact Southwestern Public Health at 1-800-922-0096 and ask to speak with a Public Health Inspector.
