From hands-on crafts and outdoor adventures to skating and camps, there’s something for kids of all ages — and parents, too.
Whether you’re looking to spark imagination, burn off energy, or just create lasting memories, local organizations and venues are ready for a jam-packed week!
Local March Break Camps include…
Port Stanley Festival Theatre’s Youth Theatre Camp runs March 16-20 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for those 8 to 11 years old.
The City of St. Thomas is once again hosting March Break Camp each weekday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Free/Public Skates
Thanks to the support of Mayor Joe Preston, S Tier Mortgages, the St. Thomas Elgin Insurance Brokers Association, and CUPE 7575, free skates are taking place at the Joe Thornton Community Centre, March 16-20, from 1:15 – 2:45 p.m. Full details here.
Sponsored Free Skates, thanks to PJ Gangle Insurance Brokers, are taking place from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Bo Horvat Community Centre, March 16-20. Learn more here.
For Central Elgin, the Belmont Arena is hosting public skates all March Break from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the Port Stanley Arena. More details can be found here.
Events
The Springwater Maple Syrup Festival runs March 14-17, 19-22 & 28 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
The London Children’s Museum is hosting special programming throughout March Break!
Drop-in Activities
The Ignite Youth Centre will be offering drop-in activities for those between the ages of 12 and 19.
Canadale Nurseries will be holding their March Break Kids Club!
Family Flowers is hosting Kids’ Week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, geared to all the junior plant parents and young gardeners.
March Break Fun at the Elgin Centre runs each weekday from 10 a.m. to noon. On Monday, they’ll be doing Rock Painting, Tuesday- A St. Patrick’s Day Craft, Wednesday- Paper Airplanes, Thursday- Catapults, and Friday is Pom Pom Day. Join the fun near Coles Bookstore!
Galaxy Cinemas in St. Thomas has a number of showtimes taking place throughout March Break, including matinees beginning as early as 10:40 a.m.
You can try your hand at bowling by visiting Heritage Lanes in St. Thomas or Cy’s Lanes & Lounge in the Town of Aylmer.
Railway 1856 – Ultimate Mini Golf in the Elgin Centre is also open all week. But if you stop by Monday through Wednesday, you’ll receive free unlimited same-day replay!
Take advantage of the amazing galleries, libraries, and museums we have across the county. Stop into the St. Thomas-Elgin Public Art Centre, take in the exhibits at the Elgin County Heritage Centre, visit Backus-Page House Museum in Wallacetown, or find a good book or program at the St. Thomas or Elgin County libraries.
Looking to get outside? You can take advantage of the amazing parks and trails throughout St. Thomas and Elgin County. Visit Canada’s first and only Elevated Park right here in St. Thomas, take a stroll through the beautiful Springwater Forest just outside Aylmer, stop by a local playground, or even plan a game of pickup with some friends.
March Break Promotions
Domino’s Pizza in St. Thomas and Aylmer are giving kids the chance to create their own small, 2-topping pizza, alongside Domino’s pizza experts from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 16th to 20th for just $6.
Tim Hortons on South Edgeware Road in St. Thomas is hosting a Donut Decorating Workshop on Monday, March 16th, from 2 to 5 p.m. For $4.90, you can decorate your own donut and enjoy a small hot chocolate.
