A city resident is out several thousand dollars after falling victim to a phone scam.
On Tuesday, the individual contacted police after receiving a phone call from someone posing as RCMP officer.
The victim was allegedly told they were currently being investigated by the RCMP for scamming others and was instructed to deposit $3,000 at a Bitcoin machine to avoid having their accounts frozen.
City police are continuing with their investigation.
