Police are maintaining a significant presence in parts of Elgin County as an investigation tied to an incident in St. Thomas continues.
According to the St. Thomas Police Service, officers are currently conducting a fraud-related criminal investigation at locations in Fingal and Springfield.
Police say both locations have been secured and are being processed as crime scenes. Officers are expected to remain in the area for several hours, resulting in a noticeable increase in police activity.
Officials stress there is no threat to public safety, and more information will be released as it becomes available.
