A special meeting of city council has been called for this morning (Monday).
St. Thomas is in receipt of a $45,000 Community Emergency Preparedness Grant which must by endorsed by city council and referred back to the province by tomorrow (Tuesday).
Staff are recommending the purchase of a drone, two-way radios, a satellite phone, emergency management training and public preparedness information.
The equipment will be maintained by the St. Thomas Fire Department.
The meeting begins at 10:30 a.m. in the council chambers at city hall.
