A late-night disturbance in Aylmer has resulted in a charge after a man was found trying to enter the wrong home.
The Aylmer Police Service say officers were called to a residence on Fourth Avenue around 1:00 a.m. on April 5th after a homeowner reported an unknown man kicking their front door in an apparent attempt to get inside.
Police say the occupants were home at the time and contacted officers out of concern for their safety.
Officers located the man nearby and determined he was heavily intoxicated.
Through the investigation, police say the individual mistakenly believed he was trying to enter a friend’s home on the same street.
A 26-year-old man from Petawawa has been charged with trespass at night and was later released on an appearance notice.
