A local high school robotics team is once again representing the community on the world stage.
Parkside Collegiate Institute’s ThunderStamps have qualified for the FIRST Robotics World Championship in Houston, Texas, following a strong showing at the provincial level.
The team is made up of 30 students from Grades 9 to 12. While seven students are travelling to compete in person, the rest of the team is supporting remotely through live scouting and match analysis as the competition unfolds.
The ThunderStamps are no strangers to international success. Since forming in the 2013–2014 season, the Parkside team has now reached the world championship six times and has built a global reputation for innovation.
Last year, the team ranked 32nd globally out of roughly 3,700 teams and earned what’s known as a “hexafecta,” taking home awards across all six engineering categories.
The team credits its success to strong mentorship, school support, and community sponsors, helping to power their ongoing run on the international robotics stage.
You can follow the journey through the team’s social media.
