As we cap off National Pet Month, myFM is shining a spotlight on the people, organizations, and businesses that help care for the furry friends that make our community special with our week-long ‘Animal House’ Feature.
Global Pet Foods, a 100 per cent Canadian company opened a franchise in St. Thomas in 2014, with John Eason at the helm.
His son, Sean, along with Erica Dixon, now operate the St. Thomas outlet.
Dixon notes, “I used to work for Sean’s dad, John, in the London store. And we just kept having customers come in asking for a location in St. Thomas. I ended up getting an inheritance, so I thought, why not partner up with John and open up the St. Thomas location.”
While Global does cater to some exotic pets like hamsters and reptiles, the bulk of their customers are dog and cat owners.
Of course ensuring good health for your cat or dog leans heavily on the meals you provide them and Eason stresses that Global carries a wide selection of foods at various price levels that are not heavy fillers and byproducts.
Global Pet Food is located at 900 Talbot Street in St. Thomas. They’re open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
