Just before midnight last Saturday, the St. Thomas Police Service recorded its 10,000th call for service.
It is the earliest point in the year that this milestone has ever been reached.
The mark was not hit until June 12 last year.
According to police, calls for service include emergency and non-emergency incidents, traffic complaints, requests for assistance, and proactive patrol activities.
STPS Many calls for service also require follow-up investigation, reporting, court preparation, and records management.
