The public now has a chance to help shape a new piece of public art in Aylmer.
Earlier this year, the Town of Aylmer put out a call for artists to submit designs for a mural on the west-facing abutment of the John Street North Bridge in Balmoral Park.
Town officials say two proposals were received, and residents are now being invited to vote for their preferred design.
The mural project is intended to enhance the community’s visual landscape while celebrating Aylmer’s heritage, diversity, and future aspirations. The selected artwork will be installed at the bridge overlooking Balmoral Park, home to the town’s splash pad, healing garden, outdoor pool, and playground.
Voting is open until June 17 and can be completed online through the public engagement portal or in person at Town Hall.
The results of the public vote will be combined with an evaluation from the Parks and Beautification Advisory Committee before a final recommendation is brought to Town Council.
