The Elgin County Railway Museum is holding children’s workshops every Thursday until the end of summer. The 2 hour drop in workshops will give parents a little break while their kids learn things about the railway and the museum all in relation to the theme of the week.
Museum Operations Manager Sydney Walker says the workshops are meant to bring railway knowledge to the kids through fun activities.
Walker says that while each workshop does have a suggested age group, all children will be able to attend any workshop they are interested in.
Walker says they have also decided to extend their workshops to run until school starts.
The next workshop will be taking place today (Aug 1) from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and is Thomas the Train themed. Kids will get a chance to explore the museum and trains, while also enjoying games and activities that all relate to Thomas and his friends.
Each workshop costs $8 and you must preregister. For a complete list of workshops and registration information, you can visit their website.
