In honor of Canada Day, the Ontario government is promoting a week-long free fishing event, inviting families, fishing enthusiasts, and newcomers to try their hand at angling.
It’s taking place June 27th through July 5th, with families encouraged to plan their own fishing excursions or discover local fishing events at Ontariofamilyfishing.com.
Those casting a line won’t have to purchase a licence or carry an Outdoors Card, but it will be essential to have valid government ID- including both your name and date of birth.
You are reminded that catch limits, size limits, sanctuaries, and other regulations still apply.
This is the final period of free fishing in the province this year.
