St. Thomas Police are investigating after a Facebook Marketplace transaction turned into a robbery in the city’s south end.
Police say a London resident travelled to St. Thomas to meet with a prospective buyer and present an item that had been listed for sale through Facebook Marketplace.
During the exchange, the prospective buyer allegedly brandished a knife, stole the item, and fled the area.
The victim was able to recover the stolen property and was not physically injured during the incident.
The investigation remains ongoing.
