Elgin OPP officers responded Sunday morning to a reported disturbance in West Lorne involving a potentially armed individual.
Residents in the area of Walker and Mary streets were asked to shelter in place while police dealt with a person barricaded inside a residence.
The Elgin OPP, alongside West Region Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), OPP Canine, crisis negotiators and Emergency Medical Services were on scene.
The OPP advise the individual was arrested without issue and that this was an isolated incident.
