City council this evening (July 13) will be asked to endorse the Hepburn Park Revitalization Project to secure federal funding through the Build Communities Strong Fund.
The proposed revitalization will transform the parkette into a vibrant, multi-functional destination, according to a report to council from Adrienne Lacey Griffin, Director of Parks and Recreation
The estimated cost of the project is $1.6 million with construction expected to begin next year.
The report notes that Hepburn Parkette has long served as a central downtown gathering space but has experienced a decline in functionality due to the loss of key amenities.
