One of the leading manufacturers of residential, commercial, and architectural doors in the western U.S. and Canada is continuing with its eastern expansion.
In 2022, Lynden Door Products of Lynden, Washington opened an Alliance Door Products distribution branch on Dennis Road in St. Thomas.
And, in response to growing customer demand, Lynden Door is investing in a new residential door manufacturing plant in Aylmer, explained Alliance Door Products Canada president John Ridder.
The new facility will be situated on 20 acres within Aylmer’s AIM Industrial Park, where doors will be manufactured for customers in Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada.
Ridder added, “We’ve got most of the machinery, the larger machinery already on order. We have Lanca Contracting that we’re working with out of Brantford for the pre-engineered building that we’re working on. And so, yeah, there’s been lots of things happening already.
“We anticipate, I’ll say, between 40 and 65 people in Phase 1 of door production.”
County of Elgin Warden Dominique Giguere noted, “Lynden Door’s investment in the Aylmer area is a vote of confidence in the people of Elgin County. Companies succeed because of people, and our region has earned a reputation for skilled workers and strong manufacturing leadership.”
Aylmer Mayor Jack Couckuyt added, “We anticipate that Lynden Door will become one of the town’s largest employers . . . and the positive impact it will have on our community.”
Ridder concluded, “When we spoke with the people from the Town of Aylmer, from Malahide, the Warden, Dominique, as well as with the Elgin County people, what really attracted us to Aylmer was the things that they had been working on to bring in more people, more manufacturing, perhaps different than automotive.”
A company release earlier this year advised, “Building on the strong relationships at the Alliance Door Products distribution branch in St. Thomas, Ontario, and responding to continued customer demand, these investments will ensure consistent product quality, service, and availability across Western Canada, the Prairies, Eastern Canada, and Atlantic Canada.”
