Starting school can be nerve-racking enough, but a free event in St. Thomas is designed to help take some of the stress out of that first bus ride.
Southwestern Ontario Student Transportation Services is hosting a First Time Rider program for children and families across the Thames Valley and London District Catholic school boards who will be riding the bus for the first time this fall.
Parents are asked to preregister online for the Thursday, August 20 event and select one of four 30-minute sessions running locally between 5 and 6:30 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic High School.
Each session includes a bus safety presentation followed by a short ride, giving children the chance to practise boarding, riding and getting off the bus before the first day of school.
Those interested are asked to RSVP by August 13th.
