A 29-year-old St. Thomas man has been charged after repeatedly calling 9-1-1. Tuesday evening.
Police communicators spoke with the man who had called with a civil complaint, not requiring a police response.
Despite repeated warnings from communicators, the man continued calling 9-1-1.
In total, 43 calls were placed within one hour.
He has been charged with one count of public mischief and one count of failure to comply with probation, and a warrant for his arrest has been requested.
The St. Thomas Police Service reminds the community that 9-1-1 is for emergencies requiring an immediate response from police, fire or paramedics.
Misuse of 9-1-1 can prevent someone experiencing a genuine emergency from reaching a communicator.
