Residents interested in serving their community are invited to learn more about becoming a volunteer firefighter as Malahide Fire Services launches its latest recruitment campaign.
The department is looking for volunteers aged 18 and older who live in the Township of Malahide and are willing to complete the required training and respond to emergency calls. No previous firefighting experience is required.
To help prospective recruits learn more about the role, Malahide Fire Services is hosting two open houses. The first takes place Saturday, August 29, from 1 to 4 p.m. at South Station #5, followed by a second open house on Saturday, September 12, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Lyons Station #4.
Visitors will have the opportunity to meet local firefighters, tour the stations, explore firefighting equipment, and learn about the training, time commitment, and rewards of volunteering.
Those unable to attend either event can contact fireadmin@malahide.ca for more information about the volunteer firefighter role or the application process.
