The chair of the London St. Thomas Association of Realtors expects housing affordability to be one of the top issues in the upcoming municipal election.
Robin Tiller says new research from the Ontario Real Estate Association finds people across the province want candidates to prioritize the issue.
The research also showed support for policies that speed up the delivery of new housing, including streamlining development approvals and making more housing options available, which ultimately impact affordability.
Housing inventory hit a new high in August in the London-St. Thomas region, with the average price of a home in our area coming in at about $522,000.
