Two St. Thomas men are facing multiple charges following a sexual assault investigation in the city.
St. Thomas Police were called to a downtown parking lot Monday after receiving a report that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle.
Through their investigation, officers determined the victim had been attempting to escape the vehicle after being sexually assaulted. The victim sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Police say CCTV footage from the area helped investigators identify and locate the individuals involved.
A 21-year-old St. Thomas man and an 18-year-old St. Thomas man were arrested Monday evening.
Both have been charged with sexual assault, forcible confinement and communication for a sexual purpose. The 21-year-old is also facing a charge of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
Both men were held in custody after being processed at police headquarters and were scheduled to appear in court Tuesday morning.
