A summer ice cream fundraiser has made a $5,000 impact on patient care at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital.
Throughout July, Shaw’s Dairy Bar on Sunset Road hosted the “Shaw’s for a Cause” campaign, with $2 from every sale of its 1.5-litre tubs of ice cream, donated to the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Foundation.
The fundraiser was held in celebration of the Foundation’s 40 years of community impact, with funds supporting the hospital’s Patient Care and Comfort Fund, explains Foundation Executive Director Ryan Byrne.
The “Shaw’s for a Cause” campaign was made possible thanks to the support of Shaw’s Co-owner Kelly Heleniak and her two sisters, Kim and Kristine.
