CMHA Climb out of the Darkness Walk
CMHA Thames Valley Addiction & Mental Health Supports in partnership with Southwestern Public Health is hosting the "Climb out of the Darkness walk” to raise awareness and funds to supports families in Elgin county who have been affected by postpartum mood and anxiety disorders.
15- 20% of parents experience significant symptoms of depression or anxiety after the birth of a baby. Sadly, many people do not seek treatment or support for fear of stigma and shame and because they do not know what resources are available. The Climb out of the Darkness walk aims to bring local families together to break down the stigma and help families know what help is available. Funds raised from the climb will be used to help families who have been impacted locally.
The climb will be held on June 24th from 3-6 pm at the Lakeside Pavillion at Pinafore Park. It is a family friendly event!
