A snow squall watch is in effect for St. Thomas and Elgin County. A system off of Lake Huron may move into our area this evening (January 9) and bring with it some snow squalls and heavy snow. Snow squalls are possible Thursday morning as well (January 10).
The system may bring upwards of 10 cm in a short period of time. Driving viability may be reduced to near zero at times in this system which is expected to make driving conditions hazardous.
This in addition to the already slick area roads from today. Leave yourself lots of extra time to get wherever you need to be going, reduce your speed, have your lights on or stay off of the area roads if you don’t need to be out anywhere.
