The price of stamps is increasing later this month for the first time in 5 years. Canada Post’s prices will increase on January 14th, with the cost of a single stamp to go up by 5 cents to $1.05.
Stamp booklets under 30 grams will also increase by 5 cents to $0.90. The company says that they believe the increases will cost the average family less than one dollar per year and around $14 for a small business.
The prices on outgoing mail to the United States and international destinations will also see increases ranging from 7 – 20 cents depending on destination.
The rate increases are expected to generate an additional $26 million in revenue per year.
