Ontario’s Independent Electricity System Operator says there will be enough electricity supply to meet the additional demand created by this week’s heat wave.
It is expected to bring dangerously high temperatures and humidex values to all of southwestern Ontario.
Today across St. Thomas-Elgin, we’ll see a high of 32 with the humidex expected to reach 41.
Daytime highs through much of the week are expected to be 30 to 35 degrees Celsius with humidex values of 40 to 45. There will be little relief through the overnight as lows are expected to be 20 to 23 degrees Celsius with humidex values of 26 to 30.
Temperatures and humidex values may be several degrees cooler for those near the shores of the Lake Erie however.
