With 2024 coming to an end tonight, here’s what’s open and what’s closed in St. Thomas and Elgin County on New Year’s Day.
Municipal offices and buildings in the city and across the county will be closed on Wednesday but will resume regular operations Thursday, January 2nd.
Railway City Transit will also be shutting down for New Year’s Day, following their free service being offered on New Year’s Eve.
Elsewhere, the St. Thomas Public Library and Elgin County Libraries will be closed on Wednesday.
Most grocery stores, including Briwood Farm Market will be closed on January 1st, however many local restaurants have chosen to stay open.
Both the LCBO and Beer Store will remain closed New Year’s Day but a reminder that a number of convenience stores across St. Thomas-Elgin now carry alcohol.
Shoppers Drug Mart at 410 Talbot Street will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on New Year’s Day in case any needs come up!
